A weekend in the Far East
The Japanese community on campus has been really busy this weekend. They invited us to a party on Friday and another one on Saturday. First of all, I have to explain that here there is a very strange custom about birthday parties. Instead of bringing presents, you have to bring friends.
On Friday, Hiroko and Aya were celebrating their birthday party, but the party was at someone else's place, and one of the girls who lived there invited Guillaume and me to the party (got lost? me too...) Unfortunately, I have no good pics of the party. Guillaume took one of my with a Leprechaun hat, but I look really sick... The party was a great chance to socialice with lots of people, especially from Japan, but there were also many Erasmus and some Irish guys. But I didn't enjoy it as much as I would have liked because I was feeling very sick...
Yesterday we had dinner with these two charming girls: Yuka and Mina.
They cook delighfully. The sushi they cooked themselves tasted really good, even better than in Japanese restaurants (ok, I know it's not very Irish...) And of course, it looked so good that I really needed to take this pic...
After dinner we didn't do much, since some of us were rather tired (I was still a bit sick), so we went back home.
And now, a pic of most of those who were in the sushi party.
From left to right: Lola, Claire and André (France), Sara (Germany), Yuka and Mina (wearing a purple t-shirt).
